Hmm, is the race still on?

The Toronto MP and former Ontario NDP premier Bob Rae reportedly filed his nomination papers for the Liberal leadership earlier today.

Apparently, the move is meant as an answer to rumours yesterday that he was prepared to withdraw from the leadership race to make way for fellow Toronto MP Michael Ignatieff to replace Stéphane Dion, if a Liberal/NDP coalition is formed.smleaf

  1. Ignatieff assuming power this way would be wrong. No Liberal leadership contenders should become PM - the LPC should go with an interim leader or Dion, and the candidates should face their membership in May.
