Obama hanging on to lead in polls

Weekend polls show Senator Barack Obama in a solid if not commanding lead going into the last day of the campaign. A win by Senator McCain on Tuesday now looks like a long shot.

  • The final USA Today/Gallup poll has Sen. Obama ahead among likely voters, 53%-42%.
  • The Washington Post/ABC tracking poll has Sen. Obama up, 54%-43%.
  • The new Wall Street Journal poll, conducted Saturday and Sunday, found Sen. Obama ahead of Sen. McCain among likely voters, 51%-43%.
