On the same day that debate truth squads are publishing fact checks debunking the Palin-McCain talking point that Barack Obama voted for tax hikes "94 times," the John McCain campaign is going on the air with the same message.
According to Factcheck.org:
The majority of the 94 votes—53 of them were on budget measures, not tax bills, and would not have resulted in any tax change. Four other votes were non-binding motions related to conference report negotiations.
Additionally, some of the votes were on measures that would have cut taxes for many Americans while raising them only on companies and the wealthy.
