A Liberal minority will sink our country

I believe a Liberal minority government is a recipe for economic disaster of epic proportions.

Think about it: Stéphane Dion as prime minister with NDP and Greens propping them up. If they keep all their campaign promises we'll have a four-year spending spree of more than $100 billion. How could we afford that without massive deficits or tax increases—or both?

By way of comparison, Stephen Harper's conservative platform calls for $8.6 billion over four years—less then one tenth of the opposition's promises.

When former Liberal prime minister Jean Chrétien would promise the world during an election, he had a majority so never had to keep many of his more excessive promises.

But with a minority prime minister like the weak Stéphane Dion, the aggressive Jack Layton and Elizabeth May will prod and bully him into spending every penny. And the power hungry Dion will do anything to hang onto power.

Oh Canada, I'm praying for you.

  1. Why do you include the Greens when it's unlikely they're even going to have a seat?

  2. This election will see a level of vote splitting unseen for decades. And with the Greens showing double digit support in some polls, we should assume they'll have some representation in parliament.

  3. 'Why do you include the Greens when it's unlikely they're even going to have a seat?'

A PM can put an unelected person in cabinet...Fortier

Dion would appoint Lizzy as Enviro Minister, that would pretty much kill the Green movement, and help the Libs out in the next election.
