I told you so

On November 7 I warned that “if Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion walks the talk, Canadians will be returning to the polls soon.”

DION PRIORITIES At that time, Dion warned that his MPs no longer had the stomach for abstaining from, or not showing up for, confidence votes. Dion said:

quote-left-red-beige-bgIt’s certainly the sense that the caucus gave to me today. It’s very clear that we will be an Official Opposition, that we will be very constructive, that we'll look at each vote on its merit, and if we don't think there is a merit, well we’ll vote as a team, altogether.quote-right-red-beige-bg

  2. Well, at least he keeps his word. Why do you think Canadians will be returning to the polls so soon? What about the coalition government?

  3. Because, PoliCana, I do not believe our GG has the moral authority to do other than let Canadians vote for who they want to govern. The GG is a ceremonial, nominal, unelected head of state.

The GG holds title of Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian military, but does the GG really exercise any power over our military? No, such decisions and policy making is left to others.

If the Conservatives loose the confidence of parliament, then back to the polls we should go.
